Impervious Joist Tape

A well laid deck is an asset to any outdoor space and one that can be enjoyed for many years to come, IF done properly.

Material selection complimented with best practise construction will determine how long your deck will stand the test of time.

In our opinion decking joist tape should be applied as standard by installers to help protect the tops of the joists against rot. Rot caused by moisture sitting on top of the the timber joists, gradually soaking in over time and causing premature failure.

Once the tops of the joists become rotten the screws that hold the deck boards down can become loose and unstable.

Impervious butyl decking joist tape will create a barrier between the timber joists and the elements, protecting the tops of the joists from absorbing moisture and drastically prolonging the decks life, especially in shaded areas.

Impervious joist tape is 70mm wide which provides ample coverage on common 45-50mm wide timber joist, this encourages water to run off the joists and on to the ground below.
